Haut Brion, 2001

2001 to me is a vintage of depth, balance and longevity.

On the nose, there was lots of minerals, old books, forest floor, truffles and slightly smokey; it took a while for the red fruits to come out.

2 hours decanting.

Beautiful ripe plum, currants, blueberries with silky tannins and spices; long savoury finish.
